Berkeley man charged over driving instructor’s death

Driving instructor Milan Bolic died at the scene.A Berkeley man appeared in Wollongong Local Court yesterday charged over the death of driving instructor Milan Bolic in a collision at Coniston in March.Court documents said Hussein Hijazi was driving a Holden Rodeo utility, which caused the Gwynneville father’s death on March 17.Mr Bolic had been teaching a 17-year-old girl to drive when they were involved in a crash on the corner of Springhill Rd and Bridge St.Both the learner driver and Mr Bolic were trapped in the car while emergency services worked for 40 minutes to free them. Mr Bolic died at the scene, while the teenage driver received minor injuries.Hijazi was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death and negligent driving occasioning death.The 27-year-old man, of Shearwater Dr, Berkeley, is due to return to court on October 7.
