17 charges laid during Operation Rolling Thunder

Seventeen charges were laid for anti-social behaviour during a special police operation in the Lake Illawarra command.Operation Rolling Thunder ran from August 2-9 targeting theft, violence and anti-social behaviour.Members of the command’s Pro-active Crime Team, Crime Management Unit and general duties police made nine arrests.Inspector Steve Johnson said 45 intelligence reports were filed, detailing locations where crime was occurring.In addition, 52 people were searched, 146 bail compliance checks made, 29 move-on orders issued, six vehicles searched and nine licensed premises visited.”These types of operations will be ongoing with the main focus being largely break and enters, anti-social behaviour and street offences,” Insp Johnson said.”Last week’s operation had a good outcome – we’re very pleased with the results.”
